Files, Books, Things Find, Identify, Workflow Management What is Findentity ? Findentity is a fully automated network-capable Local Positioning System (LPS), a system designed to find, identify and manage files, books and other objects. How does Findentity work? Findentity works on the basis of radio-frequency identification. Each file is provided with a battery-free transmitter, a transponder. The item being sought, for example a file, is found within seconds either via antennas installed hidden under tabletops or other storage places, or with the help of the favourably- priced mobile search device, the Handfinder. Findentity is very easy to install. With simple mouse-clicks on the screen you can connect the reading devices and drag the storage places for files into the previously prepared room map. Connect reading devices and Findpointer to the computer-ready. What does Findentity do for you ? Search for files When you want to find a file, select the respective file in the menu control of your application software or, if applicated, via your speech-recognition system. A few seconds later • a 3D-plan shows you the exact storage location • a voice or a message on the screen tells you where the file is • the Findpointer uses a laser beam to mark the exact position of the file in your office • the Handfinder indicates whether the file is in a certain stack. Identifying and reading files: With a simple mouse click • the file is identified and activated in your application software. • the required function, e.g. "Write reminder", is called up in your branch-customised program, and the system prepares and completes a reminder • addresses etc. of customers and clients are called up in a text editor, and much more. Organising workplaces / Workflow Based on freely selectable search parameters, you can obtain within seconds a list containing, for example, the following items: • all files registered by the system • all files located at certain workplaces • a file biography stating the way the file took • all deadlines with details of the location of the res- pective files, with the possibility to send reminders and other messages to the work station. World-wide file management Findentity will help you even if your business resides in different cities. For example, via the internet you can find out on which desk in New York or Tokyo your file is located. Library management Findentity can also be used in libraries, for example as an intelligent lending system. The user selects his books and leaves the library with them. All books are registered completely automatic. What is the scope of Findentity ? You can obtain Findentity in various modular stages which can be extended as required: Starter: For identifying objects at workplace level Business: Additionally includes Handfinder, the mobile search unit Professional: With this package you enjoy all the benefits of this unique system with hitherto unattained ease and unsurpassed speed. Every conceivable storage place is equipped with an antenna and each room is equipped with a Findpointer. Findentity can be obtained as a stand-alone system or integrated in other applications. Talk to your software manufacturer or supplier. If Findentity is not yet integrated in your particular software application, this can be accomplished with little effort. Findentity is useable worldwide and is independent of branch software and not subject to any language restrictions; it can be applied wherever objects are sought, identified and organised in offices. System requirements: Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0 Thax, Findentity and LPS are trademark-protected. Patents have been applied for.
Findentity is a fully automated network-capable Local Positioning System (LPS), a system designed to find, identify and manage files, books and other objects. With just a few programming steps, developers can use the Findentity ActiveX controls "AppMap" and "UserMap" to implement all functions in their respective applications. The AppMap Control provides basic functions such as searching and identifying transponders via any reader devices connected to the network. It also includes Stations Collection which lists the computers in the network that are used for controlling the reader devices. Each station has its own Readers Collection via which the individual reading devices can be accessed. With UserMap Control you can incorporate a user-created room map within your application and define storage sites in this map with the click of a mouse. The controls can be integrated into your program with more than 190 methods, properties and events. for example: AppMap Control Search Method: Search for transponder via all reading devices accessible via the network Station property: Returns the Stations Collection PropertyChanged event: This is generated, for example, when a reader unit is switched off AppStation Class Readers Property: Returns the Readers Collection to this station AppReader Class GetAllIDs Method: Identifies all transponders on this reader unit GetTrpID Method: Identifies a transponder on this reader unit LineMR Method: If this reader device is a Handfinder, it is actuated to search for a particular transponder ProgramTrp Method: Describes a transponder with data ReadTrp Method: Reads a particular page of a transponder UserMap Control ReadMap Method: Opens a room map Thax, Findentity and LPS are trademark-protected.
